A project to record Caernarfon residents’ memories of the town is hoping to train volunteers to interview people for the project.
A Caernarfon-based charity, GISDA, is undertaking a project with STAMP which will gather local people’s memories of Caernarfon. Memories recorded for the project, which is called “Mae gen i go’”, will lead visitors on a sensory journey around Caernarfon which is punctuated by residents’ memories.
An internationally renowned creative marketer, Iwan Brioc, is taking charge of the creative part of the project, which will comprise a journey of audio and visual reminders of how Caernarfon was in the past – including the recent past.
Volunteers are needed to interview people of all ages and backgrounds who have a story to tell, and Iwan Brioc will be training volunteers in how to carry out the interviews.
The training will take place on 13, 14 and 15 January 2017. GISDA are hoping to train fifteen volunteers in total.
The resulting audio and visual material will be produced using innovative techniques and formats, including audio trails and QR codes.
If you’d like to volunteer to take part, please contact GISDA on 01286 671153.
